Foundations for Improvising: Module 2

Riffing on a Blues. In this module, you will learn to develop the two-bar phrases you improvised in module 1 and turn them into four-bar question and answer phrases. I’ll show you some simple techniques which you can use to make your soloing sound more musical, help you to avoid getting lost, and also compose your own blues tune. We’ll work through some more of the examples from my “Beginner Jazz Soloing” series of books and finish by improvising on one of my compositions, and you can download the full band parts to take away.
