If you have one of my Beginner Jazz Soloing books from Amazon or Kindle you will find four original compositions included in the book, with play-along backing tracks. I have created band parts for these compositions, which means you can get together with other musicians and play the tunes, with or without the backing tracks. Fully notated rhythm section parts are also included.

These charts are particularly useful for school band directors and workshop leaders. A full score is included and the arrangements include a lead melody (part 1) and a harmony (part 2) for every instrument, making the arrangements interchangeable and suitable for virtually any line up of instruments.

Anyone who owns a copy of the book will be able to work at home with the backing tracks and follow the method to learn how to improvise on the tunes. Precious rehearsal time can then be spent on developing the ensemble playing and every student will be able to improvise a solo.
